Robin Ross & The Melodynes is not just about music – it’s about big fun between link-minded artists, including Wharton Tiers, JoEllen Gaetani, Tony Anniello, Katlyn Albrecht, and several others. Their collective good vibes cannot help but seep into the music, carrying over to their listeners.
“Into my mind we roam-if we close our world around us and keep your eyes open, you can see dimensions if you let it through. So, MinD sPaCE is a world of dimensions, some reach far and some are up close. Mind Space itself is about resting in bed and drifting to the stars, being the captain in your mind allows you to go wherever you want. Other songs are our party stamp songs like Spill No Mo Wine, and Shiny Blue Shoes.
‘Follow’, is aboard a spaceship en route to Mars. ‘Campfire On The Moon’, which is about all of your campfires in life together with others in a secluded world, such as the moon. We give in life as we move along the ‘Echo Of Love’, which is a song about love by JoJo. I wrote the music on an acoustic guitar and built from there. ‘Cause I Do’ is something we do when we fall in love along life’s flight. ‘Taking All Of My Heart’ is more of a pop love song about being swept off your feet on your journey. ‘Come On In’ In is about being welcome, come in let’s dance. ‘Curious Mind’ is about being tossed around in a dream but waking up to hope and beauty in someone someday.
It wouldn’t be complete if an album didn’t have a couple of side pocket tunes. ‘Free The Young’ is one of those songs. It sends me back to the castles and Kings, where tyranny was born into a new generation and now that crest is upon us. It is a message for youth to question history and fight for freedom. The other side pocket song is ‘Sweet Jane’, a blues riff about a pooch named Jane. We were chilling with Sweet Jane and playing some blues and the Dog’s Master, Tony, wrote up some lyrics, we put it down in the studio and have been playing it ever since”, says Robin Ross.
Recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studios in Milford, this album was produced and engineered by Robin Ross with Jonathan Duckett (Phillip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn) serving as supervising engineer.
With musical roots in New Jersey and New York dating back to 1988, Robin Ross has established himself in the bustling artist community of Milford, PA. A musician, songwriter, and producer with diverse musical endeavors spanning over three decades, he has released 5 albums and played a pivotal role in creating several recording studios, including Triple R Studios and Sound Complex near NYC. Ross’ current recording studio, Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio, continues to expand.
In 2025, Ross released 2 albums. ‘Back To The Forest’, the debut EP as Robin Ross & The TW Howlers, a songwriting project with storied folk-rock artist TW Howell, which received critical acclaim and airplay in dozens of countries released in April. ‘Bluesberry Jam’, released in June is an eclectic LP released as Robin Ross & The Bluesberry Jam with fellow bandmates from Jack’s Maze and The Melodynes.
In the early 1990’s, Robin co-founded Laughing Jack, later rebranded as Jack’s Maze, acclaimed for a progressive rock sound reminiscent of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Alas, life and business took him in a different direction. In 2021, Robin embarked on building Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio and also regrouped with Jack’s Maze members Frank Cinquegrana, Scott Cowan, and Joe Torres to create new progressive rock albums. The forecast is predicting a new Jack’s Maze album later in 2026.
Dedicated to the art of music composing, production and performance, Robin finds joy in the musical creative process and the connections it fosters with fellow musicians and audiences alike. With an eclectic musical style that transcends genres, Robin Ross continues to captivate listeners through soulful storytelling and infectious melodies, truly embodying the timeless spirit of rock and roll.
The ‘MinD sPaCE' LP is out now on CD, which is available via the artist’s website, and also digitally from such platforms as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and Bandcamp.
